The Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah)

The Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) received Federally Acknowledgement as an Indian Tribe in 1987, creating a government-to-government relationship with the U.S. federal government. Currently 1364 members are enrolled, of which 319 live on Martha’s Vineyard and 98 live on tribal lands in the Town of Aquinnah and the remainder live throughout the U.S.A.
