JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for researching and writing funding proposals to support a wide variety of projects for the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah). Proposals reflect the goals of Tribal Council related to cultural protection, programmatic growth and economic success of the Tribe.
SUPERVISION PROVIDED: Oversees the performance of project consultants and assigned contract workers.
SALARY RANGE: $40,838 - $62,868
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Work with the Chief of Staff, Administrators, Department Program Managers and Staff to prepare funding proposals and grant applications.
Conduct research of potential funding sources to match programmatic needs of Tribal programs. Research and identify relevant federal, state, local and foundation funding opportunities.
Provide summary grants tracking data to Tribal Council, Chief of Staff and program Administrators.
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports as directed.
Coordinate and compile tribal demographic, statistical and geographical data required for funding requests.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years work experience in a related field with demonstrated grant writing experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, Access and Outlook.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Three years’ experience developing grants for tribes or non-profit agencies focusing on federal agency funding sources.
Master Degree in Public administration, Community planning, Communications or related. Knowledge of tribal programs, including health, education, human services, natural resources, cultural programs and tribal economic development initiatives.
