SALARY: Full Time Position, $37,757.00 - $53,740.00

JOB SUMMARY: The Grants Compliance Officer is charged with the responsibility to ensure that all government grants are executed consistent with the award requirements and expended in compliance with all applicable Federal Laws, Regulations and grant specific guidelines. The Grants Compliance Officer works with each Department Head and or Grant Administrator to determine and verify all expenditures and collects necessary data to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required reports, reporting documents, funding advances and fund reimbursement requests.

SUPERVISOR: Finance Director

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• Attends grant specific training to ensure the Tribe will be compliant with the requirements of all grants as needed or required.

• Creates and maintains grant files for all grants, which shall include all required or desired reference and data documents.

Ensure Accu Fund Grant Module is updated with all grant information

• Maintains grant financial reporting system, and monitors cash requirements.

• Maintains a central calendar to adhere to “on time” filing requirements

• Coordinates with Department Heads and or grant Administrators regarding monthly financial reports and expenditures.

• Provides Department Heads and or Grant Administrators timely and accurate accounting information to compare and create accurate reporting detail.

• With the assistance and guidance of the Department Heads and or Grant Administrators prepares and submits all

Financial Status Reports, Reimbursement Reports, and other government forms to the appropriate granting agencies

• Prepares draw-down forms for grant and contract fund disbursements

• Perform periodic analysis on grant expenditures to ensure compliance with grant deliverables

• Provides written and verbal correspondences to granting agencies on behalf of the grantee department

• Provides written correspondence to departments and grantors for grant-related inquiries

• Processes financial transactions in accordance with Tribal policies and procedures

• Assists in the annual audit and annual budgeting information meetings as requested

• Reports to the Budget & Finance Committee and or Tribal Council as needed or requested.

• All other tasks and duties as assigned by the Department Head

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Three (3) years of finance, accounting or bookkeeping experience

• Five (5) years’ experience in an office environment

• Computer skills: working knowledge of accounting software, Word, and Excel

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

• Experience in Tribal government grant administration and reporting

• Experience in government grant administration, reporting or writing

• Experience interfacing with government agencies

TRAINING: Training may be available for “qualified” candidates who do not possess all of the minimum qualifications. The applicability of this approach will be determined during the candidate interview process.
